I grew up in the foothills of Colorado and nature has been my sanctuary. Since I was young, I've always had an interest in protecting and connecting with wild animals. It led me to donate to many wildlife organizations while growing up. This love of animals and the natural world showed up in a different form when I recognized the ways that animals can be our guides and teachers.

I'm called to paint animals and nature, to depict the inter-relationship between humans and the natural world. Animals can symbolically show us what we have forgotten in ourselves. I approach my paintings by calling on the energy of the animal I intend to paint. Then I attempt to bring out the vision that is given.
